Talk about a conversation piece. At rest, this kettle is a solid-looking and attractive mirrored stainless steel number. Hit the switch, though, and it becomes a virtual piece of kitchen art; the vessel goes transparent and the contents are lit with a blue light—when it starts bubbling it looks like a descendant of the lava lamp. This also makes it very easy to see how much water is being boiled and how things are progressing. Features include a large spout and automatic shut-off.
The tapered silhouette of this slow cooker is its defining feature and proof positive that Morphy Richards likes to blaze trails when it comes to design. An entirely futuristic-looking appliance, this theme is underscored with things like a digital LCD timer, cool-touch silicone handles and a fast-stew function. Convenience is present here, too: the pot and lid are dishwasher-proof and the pot can be removed and used on gas and electric stovetops.
