After doing a little research we discovered that we needed a whetstone to sharpen our knives rather than just the sharpening steel that came with the set, which just wasn't getting the results we wanted. This purchase has been great because all our knives are just like new again, slicing easily through tomatoes without making a squishy mess like they were before. It's easy to use and gets a great result. Highly recommended.
