Whether or not you use one to actually make sauce, you're going to need a saucepan or, better yet, a saucepan set in your kitchen. It's an absolutely vital piece of kitchen gear. And don't let the fancy terminology fool you: a saucepan is essentially a good, old-fashioned pot, and without one even two-minute noodles isn't possible (well... there is the microwave, but you know what we mean—you need a saucepan!).

The argument for a saucepan set is hardly outlandish; the chances are pretty good that, at some point, you might want a couple of different vegetables with your chicken. Heating your corn kernels in your one sauce pan first, putting them into a covered bowl in the oven to keep warm and then using that same sauce pan to heat up your tinned carrots is going to get real old real quick.
