Magnetic knife racks (or knife rails as they are sometimes referred to) are getting pretty popular nowadays, and not only because a famous celebrity chef or two has one. Why is this?

For one thing, a magnetic knife rack is a very sanitary choice as there are no recesses in which bacteria can build up. Another good thing about a magnetic knife rack is that you can actually see the blade you'll be working with before you reach for it—not easy to do with a knife block! And if you've just washed or rinsed the knife, it will drip dry nicely on the knife rack. Obviously, being magnetic, they're very attractive, too. Don't take it from us, though: get a magnetic knife rack and see what the fuss is for yourself.
